Well check that shit out!

We're finalists in the Adobe Design Achievement Awards :) We find out our placement when one of our group members Will goes to give our final presentation and attend the award ceremony in Taipei at the end of October. Pretty cooooool!

Senior year....

HI! We're bacckkkkk!!! For the last year...how sad! Anyway, we're almost all moved in now so I'm gonna show you some pics. Excuse the last few boxes...

Fun, right?! It's exciting to be all moved in finally. I've only had two classes so far and I went to work yesterday but I've got my other two studios today so that should be interesting/fun. Yay!

Soooooo remember the installation stuff my class did? We had to stay after school for two weeks to install stuff for the show? Well we submitted our work as a class to the Adobe Design Achievement Awards which is a contest for students worldwide and we are semi-finalists!! wedding!

Brian and I went to the Suehr/Merkel wedding last weekend. I couldn't believe Gretchen was getting married! Anywho, I didn't end up bringing my camera but here is the scan of the picture we took in the photobooth at the reception!

It's been FOREVERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. But here we go! Also a warning that there are some gross pictures in here of my feet :P

so here are my before x-rays of both feet. you can see how crooked my toes are on both sides.

this is the before next to the after x-ray. in the right foot i have a pin that is helping the bone heal in the right spot and that'll get removed with my stitches. theres also a metal stitch in the big toe but you cant really see it in the picture

close up, you can kinda see the metal stitch now.

gross!!! sorry :P this is one week post-op when the doctor removed the bandages to clean and check on the stitches.

what it looks like all wrapped up

brian took me to the surgery and took care of me all weekend. he carried me around the house and was so so so sweet. so here's him exhausted and passed out :)

Hi guys. It's finals. It's crazy. I have stuff to talk about and pictures to post but that will all come eventually.

The past two weeks have been all work and nearly no play and this is essentially the face I carry 24/7:




It's my "I've been staring at the computer for 13 hours straight now" face. It won't leave until about two weeks from now. But we truck on!!

quick internship update:

had 3 interviews now and have 2 more to come:

interbrand: nyc, still waiting to hear back. not my favorite type of work (branding), but obviously in a cool place/good experience
mcguffin: chicago, really really wanted this. they hired someone else. pretty sure they were looking for seniors they could hire straight out of the internship. they told me to report back when i graduated. i liked them a lot.
substance: chicago, pretty cool job, mine if i want it, unpaid :(
q ltd: ann arbor, interview may 2, could be cool to be back in a2 but was kind of hoping to explore
the royal order: chicago, interview next thursday, really really cool place, very much hoping they like me and offer me something, my #1 choice as of now


if i don't get anything for the summer, i'm pretty set on doing deprogram which is 3 weeks in july in the netherlands with the head of the graphic deisgn department at my school. i get credit for a class and it's awesome. you stay in den haag and work with a studio there (the guy who runs it is in my history of graphic design textbook from this semester) and do a project. you travel around the netherlands and visit other studios and famous designers and also take a trip to paris. two of my best friends from school did it last summer and loved it. i really wanted to do this last summer but had already planned my other europe trip before i found out anyone was going. so as an alternative to an internship it would be pretty kickass.


anyway, wish me luck on everything and i'll talk to you all after this storm is over :)

Portfolio Site....

So I had a lot of career/portfolio review and one of the biggest comments I got was that they all loved my work, but hated how I presented it. Soooooooo, I worked this weekend and redid my site. It's essentially the same but much simplier which makes it not only load faster, but work more efficiently and effectively in other browsers than just firefox and chrome. Take a look and enjoy! It's also got one project up that I didn't have up there before.

In other news, I got two interviews for internships!!!! :) One is for a company in new york city and the other is for a small studio in ann arbor. i have a phone interview with the NYC one tomorrow....very nervous!! And I'm going into the ann arbor studio a week from friday. Wish me luck!
